my report reads like this
findings:
there are aneurysm coils from the previous aneurysm treatment located in the supraclinoid right internal carotid artery and at the right middle cerebral artery trifurcation. Just beyond the coils at the right trifurcation is a 2.8 mm aneurysm of one the proximal branches. No aneurysms are seen at the left mca trifurcation. the anterior and posterior cerebral arteries are normal. anterior cummnicating artery is normal. posterior communicating arteries are aplastic. there is mild fusiform aneruysmal dilatation of the basilar tip measuring 5mm. the mid basilar artery measures 3mm in diameter. the right posterior inferior cerebellar arteries are normal. the left posterior inferior cerebellar artery arises from common branch with the anterior-inferior cerebellar artery.
the ventricles and subarachnoid spaces are normal. there is no hemorrhage, edema or midline shift present. there are no masses or abnormal fluid collections.
impressions:
1. 2.8mm aneurysm right mca trifurcation
2. mild fusiform aneurysmal dilatation at basilar tip measuring 5mm.
3. prior aneurysm coiling at right internal carotid artery and right mca trifurcation.
my questions are i knew about the aneurysm that is by the coils which there are 2 aneruysms that have been coiled. but is the one that is 5 mm a new one located in a different place or is it the ones that have been coiled. and what does posterior communicating arteries are aplastic mean. please help me with this im worried.
